What used to be known as Union National Community Bank is now simply called Union Community Bank after it merged with Providence Bank. According to a press release by the bank, this merger only strengthens the institution as Union Community Bank is wholly owned by affiliated Donegal companies with a history that dates back to 1889.
Mark D. Gainer, President and Chief Executive Officer of Union Community Bank FSB, stated, “Union National Community Bank served the financial needs of its customers for over 157 years. Our combined bank, Union Community Bank, is well capitalized and positioned for growth in the Lancaster County market.”
Union Community Bank is a local Philiadelphia bank, with additional locations throughout the state. In fact, the bank will be conducting business through 13 branch offices in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
Benefits of the Merger
The bank president states that customers will now be able to enjoy an even greater selection of innovative financial products and services, which include checking accounts, savings accounts and local loan decision making.
There is also greater access to accounts and services, as its network of local banking locations has been expanded to 13 offices in all, as well as access to 43,000 fee-free ATMs nationwide through the Allpoint Network. Existing customers can still use current debit cards at all of these locations.
What Does This Mean for Customers?
One of the most important things that customers of the former Union National Community Bank and Providence Bank should know is that they can access their account through online banking at one location. The Union Community Bank website offers online banking account access at the top right corner of all site pages, but customers will have separate login fields depending on which bank they banked with previously.
You should contact Union Community Bank with any questions regarding this merger and how it affects you as a customer.
